Me ok, still around only abit lazy to type in the forum since tak sihat, anyway interesting topic to talk about. This place should be my type fishing spot, i want to go but only me now cannot simply go here and there, many thing to consider la, totally not like those days.
Aji Aznaff, when you want to test your Avery, me and En.Rahim want to SALAM with you la, we use our std reel la, HOW Want or not over Air Tin.

Ya, I know… measuring distance with the Ryobi can be very difficult and inaccurate. Besides the possibility of faulty meter and line slips, we have to take into consideration of the excessive line bow.
The distance indicated on the meter can be quite deceiving compared to the actual distance achieved.
But don’t worry, when we meet up to cast, I’ll bring my laser “range finder” which can precisely tell our distance in seconds.

hey guys, may i know which tackle shop stock alvey reels? how much does an “beginner/decent” alvey reel cost? hehehe[:D] do i need a special rod to pair with the reel? [:)]
not sure if that thing is stupid or idiot, but when im on my trainning session(the only one did wet casting)i use that damn thing and it always showing me 200++ and when i go to the field it is still 200++…
something to sure about, when the sinker landed, be sure not to give much slack line and quickly spool in the slack line and when the tension of the line is just find/straightened, attached that bloody thing and measure,yeap still not exact but it’s your only choices/chances to see what is going on…

I bought mine from Fish Hunter sometime back and they cost about RM250-00 to Rm290-00 each and I actually bought 4 Alvey reels.
But because Onn (now known as Mr No Concept)and the gang always laugh at me when I fish with it (bagero that fella), I sold one to 12footer and the other to Singguan.
As for the rod, any spinning surf rod will do the job but the only problem is that Alveys work well in low mount position.
Meaning that you may have to have a reel seat much lower to be held by your left hand if you are right handed that is.

TQ for the usefull info. i might dropby FishHunter soon…just to have a look and feel of the Alvey reel. hehe. need a sifo to teach me how to use it first before i even think of getting myself one. [:D]
