Toman fishing pond near KL and selangor

Hi Emoboy and tkl8850,

You guys can try toman and other spesis at my place in Empangan Sg. Air Kuning at Bukit Cherakah in Shah Alam. The charges for weekedays is RM15 per day and weekend RM18 per day. We also have boats for rental.
This place cater for both fly fishing and lure casting. Live bait like keli and lampan also allowed only at the bottom dam. Please check under flyfishing section under EAK.
Thanks and welcome.

Tilan kp ,

I agreed with you, the tomans in Kota Damansara are big around 4-6 kilo in size but very difficult to get them to strike lures. I spent a couple of hours on yesterday and today using all sorts of lures but no strike! Even live bait anglers got no luck also. I start to think those tomans are “penunggu” lah especially the black pair that always patrol the lakes!

been there…as you see the lake is connecting from the school front to the longkang at the condo? and the surrounding of the jungle like greens…and also plankton around the area…the tomans has alot of food to eat in the lake…
the malay uncles threw lil live keli infront of the toman…the toman just turn their back on the bait and swam off
i also notice the toman likes to swim up to the surface and scout…maybe we should hide and wait patiently for strike..lol

So what should we do short of using unethical methods? Maybe we should fish at night with poppers or pencil baits, tomans will be less spooky? I still feel my shoulder aching after casting hundreds of times with no strikes, i am going there again as soon as the pain goes away. I am sure i can trick them into striking, its just the matter of the right lure with the right color retrieve at the right speed and action, i love the challenge! First person to land the Tomans is the champion.

SH,
I have try there B4 but no luck. They are just too smart but I believe someone will definitely have a strike one day and wish you all the best. Do post up the picture for us 2C if you manage to get one. If I am not going anywhere this CNY, might go and try again cos haven’t been there quite sometime already. Maybe you can be me a tinkle if you are going again. My number 012-3077045

I fished there today for about two hours. I had a couple of Tomans chasing my lure but no strikes. My fishing was cut short when my Fenwick rod broke while casting spoon! I start to think this place is jinx to me cos yesterday i lost a lure in mid-air when the line snapped for no reason, today i broke my rod while casting, tomorrow dont know what is next. All because of these bloody Tomans!

SH,
Sorry to hear about your rod.Fenwick is a good rod and I don’t see any reason why it should break will casting. Is it the top section of the rod broke?. I know a tackle shop who can order the part for me cos I have inquired from them B4 and it cost RM50.00 for the top section but that was quite sometime ago. If you want, I can try to find out for you.

gee , its so hard to get a toman
but not only toman , any fish is also very very hard to get

Joman

yes it was the top section near the fourth ring. Can you tell me which shop that is that can replace the top half for that kind of price?

Thanks

Falcon

Toman in general are easy to catch but there are certain area where they are exposed to too much human activities that they become smart n finicky to take baits no matter what type. This particular area the tomans already know the tricks.

geez…now you made me worrying my rod will break at the tip…i always got hit on the tip of the rod cos of the 7 feet long tip always hitting the roof when i strike fishes…

o.o ok
so weve gotta catch wild toman

Heard got few tackle shop around semenyih but so far manage to find one only, it’s the one shop sellin limited fishin stuff and assorted aquarium stuff… tat’s it

Dunno where’s the real semenyih town, got few township here and there, susah also to locate anything… the town i mentioned is the one next to the pertronas station n after the traffic light turnin to FV

Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

TJS,
This shop is after the turning to FV, the next traffic light turn right and then take a left turn on the second lane, the shop is on the left hand side. You can’t see any fishing tackle from outside the shop as they display clothes outside. Look out for the signboard “CHUNG KIM CHEONG”. Dotn’t expect too much from them as they are not into highend fishing gear.

im also not sure were it is actually
but how can i help sn ?

and just now i went hunting for toman , from 10 am till 5 pm , but nothing …
theyre really smart

Joman

sorry bro cant join you cos i got my relatives coming over to meminang some girl for my nephew in cheras. It is a different kind of fishing bro he he he. Wow semenyih town aah i am not familiar at all. If i cant fix it i just keep the rod idling loh, no worries cause i got 30 over rods in my collection. As a matter of fact i just added a new one which is a Lemax Slim Max 8-17lb bc rod to replace the Fenwick. I serik already buying expensive rods cause they still break and very sensitive.

but flyrods are sure expensive

if a toman got caught on a fly ( a freaking big one ) , that rod will just snap in a second

so i also dont want to buy expensive rods because :

  1. i am still a beginner
  2. i dont have enough money to buy rods
  3. for me 3 rods arre enough
  4. i am scared i lose/brake the tip of the rod
