Another one coming, invited by LaPala. I’m from Japan, also one of TM & TU members and crazy about making lures like the others do.
I’ve fished Barramundi, Snakehead, Pasific Tarpon and maybe some of you fish the same fish in Malaysia. (Please tell me your honey spots in secret and I’ve been there at once.[:)])
I have my own site and it has some lure making tutorials.(Link below.)

Angker,
I’m not sure what you mean by “RM”..Nathan
Nathan: RM = Ringgit Malaysia, ie Malaysian dollar which is roughly 3.8 to one USD.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. LaPala is too kind. LP as we call him is quite a baitmaker too. ( I am still waiting for one of his hand carved baits). Lets get to work. I would like to know what types of wood do you make your baits from.
Skeeter
Wow… U must be a mechanical engineer. Does ur job require CFD? What software are u using? I took that subject back in uni but i dont apply it in my current job, so forgot everything. There’s very few CFD specialist around, Its good to know someone who know how to apply it! I used CFDAce btw… Bloody expensive software. any idea where i get a ciplak one? Ha ha..

Be happy, go fishing.
Be coservative, release all fishes.
Conservation is the KEY to the future of fishing.
Ugly Lures Work Too!!
Congratulation for the effort to lead our fellow friends and to get the engine running. All the others should lend in and contribute. Looking forward to re-live our peninsula as the hub for marine sports development. Until later.

fishingboy:I’m sure CFD studies & FEA even on existing lures will be a very interesting look into how a lure perform. If u’re up to it, why don’t u start on some existing production lures and post ur findings here. Some questions I have as a lure builder includes: Does body shape influence the action of a lure & to what degree (not empirically of course, but with solid mathematical data to support the conclusion)? Can a lure’s hydrodymatic improve on it’s dive depth instead of relying more on the lips to dig? I’ve got lots more actually, maybe one day we can get togather & talk about this ![]()
