PVC is ok for temporary storing but corrosive in long term. One of its ingredient in manufacturing is acid. This is the reason why the water authorities of KL and Selangor has stop approving it for use.

Thanks Steven for the info. The pvc casing is for transportation and air travel. Rods are packed in cloth bags and stacked inside the pvc bazooka
and stuffed with packing material to prevent the rods from sliding prior to closing with end caps followed by masking tape. This is only a temporary measure.

This Daiwa BG 30 is a very good reel, can be considered as a MULTIPURPOSE spinning reel for freshwater and coastal seafishing, you can load 15 to 30 lb braided line , can catch fish from 5 to 20 kg, if you know how to handle.
