James,
nice. were you using the blue feather poppers we were talking about?

Carry a rod and speak softly.

Yes, we were using blue, black, green, red.

Blue, black and green hit the most.. maybe we put a bit of squid meat on the hook of the popper.

But Snapper snatcher caught the most with a small pce of squid on…

Nice matee…awesome

once an angler, always an angler

James,

Carry a rod and speak softly.

Hey Ben… I would love to join you one day in fishing bro… let me know when is the next fishing meet bro..

cheers

James

James bro,
probably when I get back to melb in mid June.

Carry a rod and speak softly.

good shark bait..!! congrats, williamsons beach just down the road from woolamai is another great spot to catch salmon, especially if there’s a crowd around the gutters at woolamai..

Strange looking salmons you have there, bro…not like the “usual” ones you’d find running upstream to spawn, right? Damn, now I’m really, really regretting not jumping off the plane back in 1983 and seeking asylum! Wonder what reason I’d be giving to stay back in NZ? Can’t political…then again maybe political can be a good reason…I’d be running away from Malaysian politics to join Kiwi or OZzie politics[:D]

Aussie Salmon confusingly are nothing like those yummy orange fleshed fish we eat for sashimi. Know as Kahawai in some places and not so fun to eat. Good for fish cakes though.

Good Fishing and Good Food Bring Good People Together

Izzy,

Australia - Assie Salmon
NZ - Kahawai

They are not related to Salmons. They are very nice for sushi and smoke fish.

[:)]

Izzy,
The kahawai are nice to cook as ‘ikan bakar’ as they are a little bit oily but not as oily as terubuk.
Also excellent bait(live) for kingfish and bait(cut) for xxos snappers
