TIPS ON STITCH N GLUE
(FIBERGLASSING THE EDGE)
on this topics, i have mocked up some 90degree panel as you corner edge of your boat.

the other things required for doing this technique are;
rounded-end stick or sometimes called 'ice-cream stick. i do it myself by sending the end to get it rounded.
of course, the white strip is CSM cut into 2 inches wide to be our tape later on. the strips can be prepared as long as possible to cover the whole joining edge of our boat, and it can also be overlapped to continue.
ok, now come into the mixture or cement. As i mentioned earlier in my other comments, this mixture is gonna be out sealant and glue for the edges. Of course, as Bro Pulsar mentioned, we can also use commercial putty (cement kereta) but i thought it will be more expensive.
in here i will demonstrate the ‘home made putty’ made of polyester resin and talcum powder.
the resin - polyester ( just small amount to demo..)

and the talcum powder..mine is talcum powder used dedicated to fiberglass..lowest quality of talcum powder. this powder is just the same with normal talcum powder but without those bau wangi la..but i’ve never tried with tepung gandum la..

i you have access to fume silica..it is even better than powder..it is stronger..this is the fume silica brand Aeorsil, some Carbosil..

the art of mixing resin and powder is not much differ than bancuh dedak..hehe..but mix them until it reach the state of ‘peanut butter’ like this..

then we are ready to applying the glue to the joining edges.. BUT..please not to forgot to add CATALYST about 1-2% as it wont be hardened without the ‘ubat’. To apply it, bring it on the edge by the ‘ice-cream stick’ and paste it to get the clean rounded paste at the corner..see picture

then, you can just apply resin and CSM on top of the paste and let them cured..make sure the paste cover all the space betwwen corner and the resin well absorbed to the CSM as to assure its strength and tak bocor..
