Im hoping to go to Lumut on a ‘jalan-jalan’ day trip this Saturday 6th November & maybe do some fishing, but not finalize yet. Im also interested in the DIY boat. I also met a retired VIP recently who’s interest also include building boats & fishing. I was thinking maybe we could all meet up & share the common interest. Im based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
am sorry as this weekend i will be off to raub..raya umah KDN. but you can always drive in to have a look at the institute. ask the favor from security. should not be a problem.

-Kancil merah ada sebut “masuk bab polyster ngan epoxy tu yg jadi masalah” jadi persoalannya… saya pun tak paham dan tak kenal barang ni..(tanya hardware …apek tu pun tak tau..)jadi kalau ada “contoh gambar dan supplier” dari malaysia tolonglah sebarkan kat sini…[:p]…
…saya nak tahu kalau..pakai " solid polycarbonate roof"/ bumbung solid poly@plastik…yang pakai kat bumbung jejantas…untuk meggantikan plywood blh ker?..tp mahal sedikit…

polyester / epoxy adalah jenis resin..untuk kerja fiberglass.
basic untuk kerja fiberglass kena resin + hardener + fiber.
so, kl nk beli kt kedai..tanya pasal fiber.
untuk polycarbonate / perspek / bumbung plastik..boleh je kl nk buat bot.. cuma kena konsider..
flexibiliti bahan tu. bot ade byk shape n curvature. bhan tu mestila boleh ikut shape yg kita nak..
senang bekerja. senang untuk potong, camtum, paku, glue et.
tahan / kuat. kuat untuk tahan kita pijak2 dari dalam..dan tahan daya yg dtg dari luar..seperti tekanan air..
kos. kita DIY untuk save kos..kalau mahal…baik beli je bot tu terus.

i have been busy lately.
in boatbuilding, there is procedures or steps to be followed
you might find a short-cut, but learned how and why its happened is much meaningful. what i could list here is the general in boatbuiding.
1step: drawing / lofting
2step: parts making
3step: planking
4step: outfitting
but, bare in minds, these steps could be differed depends on the methods of building ( stripplanking, plank-on-frame,stitch & glue, etc. -> refer my previous post)
what i mean buy short cut is that you can easily get the drawing / pre-cut parts over the internet (buying or FOC) and comes with the building instructions.
ok..next time i will elaborate on the drawing of the boats

biasanya ada 2 cara untuk sambung plywood
Butt joint
Scarph joint
BUTT JOINT
sambungan ni sambung end-to-end plywood. kemudian butt block; kepingan nipis plywood lebih kurang 4-8" digamkan di atas keduanya (cover sambungan tu). cara ni senang tapi tak berapa kuat. dan ade kepingan tebal pada sebelah dalam plywood. saya guna butt joint utk ‘stictch n glue’ boat dalam posting saya yg lepas.
Persoalan 2, fiberglassing..ada tips tak utk yg beginner mcm saya..? Kat kl ni mana nk dpt/beli material? (maaf la..sy ni mmg buta kayu pasal fiberglass ni..)
