at the end of the day, we need to be able to look ourselves in the mirror, sleep nights, have the grace and humility to acknowledge our own shortcomings
others’re always welcome to their own opinions and convictions - individual experiences/preferences differ mah

i can empathise with TJS; keep it up, keep at it - there will always be people who’ll find our shared knowledge/experiences helpful - different individuals have varying levels of maturity AND everyone of us mature at different rates (ongoing journey)

Please also take a look at Daiwa Ryoga 1016HL. It ia a toman killer and used often by BBKguy.

This reel has a stronger drag, good speed of retrieve, supposedly stronger gears, and also reasonable weight (tackletour says).

cruiser, u can order all those things online.
be careful though… u’re walking down a dark path…

one avail spool, n u’ll want aftermarket spools for all your reels. then u’ll change handles on all of them.
and then start to fit bearings wherever u can</font id=“red”>, and have reels with 15 abec-7 ceramic bearings</font id=“red”>! or even full ceramic bearings!
then u’ll go on to anodizing parts of your reel, and engraving!
at the same time, u’re buying all kinds of wood, cork, metals, acrylic, etc. and experimenting with shaping these materials.</font id=“red”>
then u’ll need to look for someone with a RM20,000,000.00 CNC machine to machine spools, gears, knobs, line guides, handles, frames, and a whole reel for you!</font id=“red”>

then u realize time to do rods…
u start with expensive overpriced japanese stock rods (n realize they’re not worth the money</font id=“red”>), then u start going down the path of matagi custom.
then u start machining components for your rods, u’re buying all kinds of wood, cork, metals, acrylic, etc. and experimenting with shaping these materials.
n u start looking for blanks in every country but Malaysia.
then u ask ppl to make blanks for u</font id=“red”>..

soon… u realize u have to run from ah longs.
and u never got a chance to fish before all the fish in the world go extinct in year 2038.

then u pick up a new hobby, like photography</font id=“red”>. hahaha!
too bad… no more nature and wildlife to photograph.

Hi Bro, The doesnt want to grow old statement was pun intended [:D] Dont take it too seriously as I believe everyone of us is openly or secretly desired not growing old too soon. When one reaches mid life the time weirdly as it seams like starts to tick faster lor…so like the Nike slogan, whatever you want to do “Just Do It” [8D]

I believe that I should clarify that this thread was started for the purpose of those having used both the CQ51 and CQ51DC can share their feel. So far it has been helpful to me to some extent albeit..plus some additional poison conveniently added to the drink by good brothers here [:D]

Other than food poisoning, no harm was done to any animal during the filming of this documentary [:o)]

Thanks yes I agree with you that Ryoga is a proven reel. But for toman somehow I always return to my trusty Abu. Its like AK47, throw sand on it and it still fires [:p] Literary saying laa

Any of you guys ever using the conquest 50 at brackish water? saltwater pond, mangrove river..etc

i use my conquest in all the place u mentioned before including even on saltwater beach. but i took out and clean n relube so i can’t tell if problem will arise if u don’t. Anyway i clean my reel quite regularly n so far so good, not a single rust spotted

I only have 13 years of fishing experience, so must beri tunjuk ajar!

my conquest 51 i use for jigging in maldives.. landed 30kg dogtooth. 50kg shark etc. miracle wonder reel.

after came back never wash for few months still look brand new, only polka dots appeared, i felt i can grip it better now as it created a natural leathery feel. best is the gears hardened coz the coral meshed with brass and formed a titanium coating. wth! now i have a super conquest 51 that can grind coffee beans. thanks conquest 51. i love u !

Wow Bro Wusharox.. Conquest 51 is the smallest of Conquest family.. Enough line to withstand all the sudden run from that monster fish??

And with gear ratio of 6.2.1, it must be tiring to jig whole day (as I know, jigging need higher gear ratio???).. Incredible reel indeed
