Hi Razor
I saw one lampam well past the 1kg mark, it even had a hook in its mouth. I took back the two palm size ones to put in my pond.

Hello DocSyed..
1kg lampam with a hook on it’s mouth, must be frustrating for one who lost it.. Well how’s the report on this pond, what’s the biggest catch so far.. Long time already never go there, use to there every week last time..

anybody went to desa aman pond recently?
how is the catch?

Went this morning 0930 - 1230. Same crowd about 30 - 40 - same results where 1 guy got 7, and 1 guy got 6, and the rest shared about 10.
Fish were added in full view of everybody until a thunderstorm broke towards afternoon.
2 issues that are killing me right now :-
How do those people manage it so often - it is not that they have found a special corner of the pond - everybody is fishing elbow to elbow.
When are the pla buk going to start biting in Fish Valley ?
[:o)][:o)][:o)]
waaa… 6-7 per angler is very good compared to none ..hehe…maybe the siakaps are very picky on baits..got to check what bait the lucky one used…maybe smellier than others hahaha…

Those of you who frequent this pond, can you please tell me what is the best bait to use? Live prawn, lampam, dead prawn etc??? Casting or wait method prefer???
is lure fishing allow in this pond? when there once but no one is using lure.. 80% using float rig
Artificial lures definitely not allowed. But if you are using live prawn or lampam using casting method, then it’s ok.
can kindly advise why cant use lures?
I am not too sure. Maybe they want to make some money from selling live prawns or maybe the lures may cause inconvenience to other anglers.
just came back from the pond… catch rate poor many got zero including me… a few walk home with 1-2
Bro slimfish which sport is better ? the snakeheads or saltwater pond ?
Bro kenchen, the answer is so very obvious - SNAKEHEAD SPORT! The thrill one derives from “hunting” for snakeheads is just overwhelming. You get the exercise, the hunting desire (which we men are borned with it and now able to express it this way) and the peace one gets in the wild ponds. All wild things are hapenning out there brother!
But I must say hunting for snakeheads require a small team. You do not go into the wild all alone. Remember you do not go hunting for snakeheads alone.
Frankly, i go to pay pond only if i really feel bored.
Has anyone been to Desa Aman Siakap pond lately? Got any news to share?
Went over to Kg. Desa Aman yesterday (10 August 2008) from 7.15am - 10.15am. Using live prawns and kembong, caught 5 siakaps during the 3 hours biggest was 2.2kg. All around the pond anglers was bringing up fish non stop and catch rate seems to be very good despite the water being quite dirty with lots of small bait fish.
Weather condition was very good as it was shadowed by rain clouds (but no rain) while crowd was not too pack. But the fish here lack “power” to fight so don’t expect anything much from the poor fishes. [:D][:D]
Dear dreamworks,
What a fantastic results - 5 siakaps in 3 hours. Maybe it is time for me to return to this pond.
Dear Kenchen,
Want to take up this challenge? I know pay-pond is not your favorite, but it is no harm trying. BTW, please change your heading on this post - Desa and not Deas???

Bro kenchen, frankly haruan fishing is still my preferred sport, than the siakap pay pond. However, if the fishing “fever” becomes unbearable and no other “kaki” to tag along to this wild snakes infested haruan ponds, than pay pond is my other choice. Actually, I find the wild ponds, especially those where you need to chop and track in the secondary forest, is also a form of exercise for me. Not a bad thing - killing two birds with one stone!
Dear Maguro,
Next time when i go Desa Aman ppond, I will surely invite you to come along. May need to learn some tricks from you lah…
aaaahhh…
