i was at desa aman pond yesterday from 930pm to 130am..my first time…saw abt 30-40 people trying their luck but not many landed fish maybe due to rain in the late afternoon so fishes became inactive or lazy..heard that the morning and afternoon session were much better..finally in the last minute got 1 strike (kaci abt 2kg) at my 5th location of the night..hehe..guess where???..near the fish cage laa..after almost 4 hours of fishing fuhh…but happy trying and surely a challenge for first timer at this pond..definitely will go again..tried a few type of bait;udang kopek/emporium and belanak (bought at giant), live prawn and small shiny fish..and confirm small fish is the favorite guess…no wonder lampam bait is prohibited hehe…saw many people use live prawn..second best choice which is a legal one coz lampam is stated as illegal…
environment is nice and many thanks to the guy who helped me net my catch..hope to see him again..hehe…
Was there Monday morning till lunch time. As always, can see a lot of fish being put in - one guy get’s about 6, one guy get’s about 4, a few get 1 - 2, and the majority get none.
We normal guys still got a lot to learn [xx(] but the lunch was not bad. [:)]

just coming back from desa aman pond; starting at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. with 1 of my fren; caught 2 siakap only, around 3.5 kg to 4 kg.. btw, this is the 1st time i caught siakaps, last time kumpau… tought that i will kumpau also today, but the 1st siakap was landed by me around 11.35 a.m. & another 1 was around 12.45 p.m.. here’s the pics:
p/s: i saw 1 men with black cap, white polo shirt with seluar pendek, dressing like want to play golf, coming in aorund 9.30 a.m., is it u ka mike?? sory bcoz not ‘hello’ to u.. btw, i’m seating at the end of the pond, without roof, just me & my fren only seating there, my skin getting dark already, hehehe.. I was at the end of the shade, on your left - and after zilch for 2 hours, started to walk around and cast whenever somebody did not mind the rude intrusion. Still got nothing but did not damage any friendships.
You saw the guys infront / on the other side ? One guy got 8 or 9, and quite a few got more than 3 each !!!

Was told some time ago that they are MJ’s or, Kakap Merah - but everybody I know calls them Kaci around here. Was also told that Kaci actually is Sweetlips or something like that.
From my experience, a similar sized one will pull a siakap inside out, let alone backwards. They hit and run - that is if they haven’t chewed your poor prawn clean in half. [:0]

Could have been a Brown batik - but I could only see Brown. Spoke to somebody who knows him - apparently he pulled up more than a dozen a few weeks ago !
Now - is it LUCK, or what ? No lah … he is doing something right … and we guys have not yet found out what. He had a lot of other fishos all around him - there must have been about 50 people this morning - and he still showed everybody a clean pair of heels.

yes, it was him with long sleeve brown shirt with black trousers.. me & my fren kept arguing why that man can caught a lot of fish byright there was around 5 to 6 fishers packed on his left & right.. approximately 15 minutes to 30 minutes he can caught 1 or 2, at the same time fishers who managed to trying thier luck on his left & right still kumpau… i also would says that this is not what we are caliing as LUCK lah, something’s wrong there i think… & as u said bro mike, and he still showed everybody a clean pair of heels. [:(!]

i went to this pond on last monday, 26.05.08 with my fren; starting at 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. just caught 2 siakaps by using pelampung… a lot of people on that day, 90% seats are full.. maybe school holiday @ salary already come out @ lazy monday scenario.. that is why a ot of people on that day… [:D]
Tonight at the desa aman pond at 12 midnight they will be cleaning the pond of lampams and other yee chais, anyone who wants free fish is free to come and collect
