I went to Desa Aman Pond on the 6th Feb (Wed) with a lawyer friend of mine. We have been trying to plan this trip for a long time. We both brought along our sons. I was using float as my son is with me and thought that he can at least see the float and the movement when the fish takes the bait. Had a bite and strike once. The fish jumped up and spat out the bait!!! What a waste.
Spent 3 hours there and caught nothing.
I kept the balance 3 hours and went there again on Sunday (10/2) at 4.30pm. The place was quite filled up and I found it hard to move and change position. Finally after 1.5 hours with no bite, I decided to move to the far end of the pond. Using the same method of casting and retrieving, and after the 2nd cast, I could feel the prawn is being taken (a strong hit/quick pull) on my hand and rod. Released the line and waited for 5 seconds and could see the line move towards the left side. Waiting and asking when do I strike??? Remembered what my nephew said to me, “I will normally hook up the fish if the fish takes the bait. You have to wait a little longer and ensure that the fish has totally taken in the bait. When you strike, it will be near to 100% hook up rate!”.
So, not waiting to lose this fish again, I decided to allow the fish to take the bait. The line kept going out and I waited for about 1 minute, and then slowly reeling in the line I could see the line tightened and could feel the weight of the line, I took a strong strike! BINGO! HOOKED! REELING IN AND THE EXCITEMENT I was waiting for.
True enough, the hook was set deep into the fish and there is no way it could spit out the hook.
So, I learned to wait for a while before striking, otherwise you may lose the fish.
Bro kenchen,
It has been a pleasure fishing with you. Be it for haruan or siakap. The new year has so far been good for me. I am looking forward to the blessed, healthy and prosperous new year and hope you will also be rounded into this realm of good wishes.
Really love fishing. A very relaxing and thrilling sport for me.

Come what may, fishing is a passion rekindled after laying dormant .. a lapse of years of bring up your little loved one, I saluted your home minister for the multiple pass or should I said unlimited duration.. Kind regards
I believ you just have to strike a balance between fishing and “home minister” for this magical unlimited multiple pass. In many occassions I am still under scrutiny too. So, I think it is just a periodic limited multipass only.
Work on the trust and emphasize that it is your passion and interest in your life…and no “others”… hahaha
Yes. If you take the LDP towards Sungei Buloh, you will have to pass a RM1.60 toll. Continue towards Sungei Buloh direction. On the way you may have to take a U-Turn just before Sierrama/Valencia flyover. After the U-Turn, you will see a Caltex petrol station on the left hand side. Turn into Desa Aman after the petrol station. You will notice the fishing pond on your right hand side after a sharp turning along the road. Happy fishing…

Dear phFISH,
The entrance fees is RM55 for 6 hours. Minimum 3 hours. You can come back for the balance 3 hours, but have to be within 1 week. Each time you get into the pond to fish, there is an extra RM2 for jackpot participating fee.
Enjoy your fishing…

There was this guy who is sitting next to me caught a 5 kg fish, he have a good fight with the fish with his light setting.. It took about 5 minit just to land the fish and u can hear the guys at the opposite side keep shouting PUTUS! PUTUS! Hahaha.. There is also 1 old couple came there and sit a few places from me, caught about 6 fishes in 3 hours.. I went to him and ask him what bait did he use, and he said Lampam..

Hi Slimfish,
I’m totally curious, but is your lawyer friend’s surname “Tan”?? If so I happen to be his son’s schoolmate. Random question, lol =)
Haha, I’m quite sure its him… Hmm, I am quite sure its him because he visits this pond in particular… Is his son 15 years of age and goes by the name of Justin?
