Heh, heh … I actually bought the PIONEER - but at a higher price than what you paid. Got a free ice coffee though … [:p]
Just consider it as investment of a lifetime.
We come to this world but once… hahahaha…
But dont drop it in deep water and let it rest at the bottom of the lake forever and not serving you.
There goes your investment!

Sob, sob, sob…
You should have presented it to me instead of donating it to Pergau.
At least I appreciate your generosity.
Does anybody know where to get one of those cool Berkley pistol grip thingies ?
Tried Pure Fishing and a few shops - all out of stock.[:(]

Hi There,
I just bought one before CNY. cost me slightly above 100…is it too pricy?
Anyhow its my first lip grip, i did test the other types. I felt its most compact.
Impressed with its ratchet lock mechanism..easy one hand operation.
The only down part it does not have a scale. but i dont mind.
The shop still have some stock..in Kedah though..
I believe you have a good deal. Boga is RM400 + . Anything should be a good buy below this price.
When you ask to see a Boga grip from a shop, you are deemed to have reached a certain level in your financial status and your seriousness about fishing has gone to quite a level. The shop keeper will serve you as if you are somebody and dont expect you to talk much about price reduction… hehehehe.
Zuju bro i think he meant the Berkley pistol grip ones leh

FT - I saw them in many shops in Melbourne recently - nearly fainted when I looked at the price.[xx(]
Yeah … did place an order which PF confirmed - guess what ? They sent the normal ones to the shop - not the pistol grips. [:(!]
What to do … will wait lah !
After having been sent to the hospital to get my finger bandaged and the necessary ATS shot plus a bag of pills during my Thailand trip with KK and EK - redoubled my efforts this morning - and YES - picked up a pistol grip in Kepong.
Was a bit of luck as most shops did not have them - and EK and myself managed to even get out of the shop before the whole Tour of Langkawi came along and shut the roads !
My advice - especially when using trebles / lures, and the action is as hot as you get in Thailand, use a lip grip. You will know that it is easily worth the money when you have an angry siakap attached to your finger.
Brother Mike,
Sharing the same experience with you. Many years ago I had a 1.5 kg hyperactive haruan from the river mouth refusing to be tamed tagged to my thumb. Hahahaha…
Thereafter I use two pliers, each hand holding one, to do the unhooking job. Now thinking about how good is the lip grip. I dont want a repeat of that incidence.
If you want to be kiasu like me - go for the Berkleys - all around Rm 80 - 120. Probably can survive salt water as well.
For practical consideration - especially if most of your fishing is in fresh water - the Pioneer / Seahawk are around Rm 25 - 40.
For me, I gently put my foot on the grip on the ground while I use my free hands / pliers to unhook the fish. Do not try unhooking with the fish in the air - even a few inches - you could have one hand holding the grip, one hand holding the pliers, and a free flying hook just inches from your face ! Keep everything on the ground.
Stay safe, and enjoy our fantastic hobby [:)][:)][:)]

Mike, Berkley pistol grip can withstand salt water use with proper just give it proper rinsing.
Thanks ! … will do so if I get to use it in salt water. [:)]
