This thread is open to all forumers in Malaysia and around the world to post in the pictures of their fly Catches. At the same time this will also benefit us by increasing our knowledge of different fish species caught on fly.
Below are some pictures of Fish caught on fly by the guys
Very good of you to start this. However, can I suggest we resize the pics smaller when posting, can or not?. It will make viewing easier and faster for forumers… many thanks.

Hi Dr. No,
I totally agree with Kurauking. You are really the man behind it all. I am sure most will agree that you are one of the Founding fathers of the Malaysian Fly Fishing. Well Fly Fishing has finally taken off here in Malaysia with lots of interest from new anglers. It still has far to grow and i am sure it will continue to grow rapidly under your watchfull eye and guidance.
Most Malaysian Fly Fishermen have a special place in their heart for you when if comes to Fly Fishing and Nick Ooi and Malaysian Fly Fishing are one and the same. Good Work Nick and hope the rest of us can follow in your footsteps and support you in taking this sport to the next level
PS: Please post some of your photos of Fish on Fly. I know you have lots of it stashed away and the guys will be very interested in seeing them.
Aiyooooh … like this means KK and Flytech sure got special discount one.[:D]… but seriously, Nick has certainly done lots for fly fishing in Malaysia … very knowledgable, helpful and nary a harsh word for anybody… and a good Bassist to boot!.. do continue the good work man.
Dr. No gets all the credits hah…[}:)][:D][:D] No disrespect to Nick, I think the whole Tacklebox gang also has some contributions in promoting the sport. I started fly fishing because of Tony Wee from this forum lah… I learn my casting from GP Goh (the oldman of fly fishing). I am perfecting my casting and fishing from Dr. Ling. I learn fly tying from Pak Man and fly tying still our common topic when we meet. I learn dry fly and tarpon fishing from Master Yong. I learn how to make shooting head from Tan Panjang. There are many other fly fishing veterans should be given credits also mah… These people not even making profit from the sport, the least I could do in return is mentioning their name when talk about fly fishing development in the country mah.. [:D][:D] Don’t you guys agree?

Aiyoooh, I poisoned you meh?[:D]
And Yes, yes, of course …apart from the above, there were many of the early fellas whom I too learned from… pple like Aznir, Ilhamy, Chris (3 of them), a matt salleh…and a few others I forget liao.
Yes, fly fishing is definitely here to stay … many of the above fellas played a big role in encouraging the newbies, many of whom are now expert casters and fishos. I recall most equipment then were basic and less snotty (Abu, Shakespeare) tho’ Nick was already bringing in Sage and Ubob was selling G.Loomis.
Nowadays ah… wah, the equipment so nice, so sexy and soooo expensive…one reel alone more than one month’s salary to most, can see only, cannot touch…droool, droool.[:D]
Question : If your birthday tomolo and money no object, what would be your desired Fly Rod and Reel?

<><ICHTUS><>
Yep, I should blame you for poisoning me. BIG TIME. [:D]
Talking of GLoomis fly rods, Ubob is the first one to bring it into Malaysia. In fact is was Ubob who first introduced fly fishing equipment into Malaysia market. Not many people seems to know that. He he he.. Of course Nick took it to another level lah…
I can only wish someone will gimme a fly rod and reel as birthday present. Specifying brand some more is like thinking of robbing a bank. [:p] If you see me get caught robbing a bank, it was Sage XP 9wt and Abel Super 7 (no those stupid gaudy patterns please which me think ugly like someone with constipation poo on it) that came accross my mind. Then my next birthday wish will be going to the Seychelles for a month.[:D][:D] That I have to rob Bank Negara.
