Fly Fishing with Pak Amin in Mongolia

What a wonderful report and what a fabolous trip it would have been, i am trying to imagine [8)] I know it gets very chilly at night in these mountains, even during summers. Thanks for sharing the pics dronfly and congrats to the entire team.

By the way, did you catch any giant Mangolain trout ???

The place where we landed lots of Grayling…

Place where lots of weeds and aqua plant filled the river bed… Grayling normally hide in the weeds and water pocket and we can see lots of them tru our polarized sun glass…

Fish by fish… non stop action… when we cast to the weeds, the grayling tooked our flies and always jump out of water doing the stunt to amazed us…and cast to the deeper zone, will rewards us with the mighty fighter.. Lenok…

Lenok.. an amazing, powerful fish that give us unbelievable fight and often pull ours backing out in split seconds… I normally cast to the middle of the deeper zone and allow some slack line for the nymph to drift, before the line were straighten by the current… retrieved with a slow figure eight… normally the take were happen even before you start retrieved…

about 11am… after many grayling and lenoks…

We came to a spot where stock lots of big lenok … and lucky me that a 7 lbs Lenok took my nymph… on #5 winston boron II T…sharkskin trout line…

3 times… she run to the edge of the pond… burns my finger and ever burn a hole on my glove… Shiok..!!!

The nymph… a stone fly nymph in dark brown and knob biot legs…

The fly… which I posted before…

We walk along the river… stop at spot where feel potential… cast a few times and always rewards with the mighty lenoks…

27th August… morning..

We were packing up and planing to move to another fishing spot… white lake for the pike… due to the extremely cold weather, and short of supply…

Hard working Dennis took the last minute… went down to the river and try his last chance… Taimen on fly…

After about an hour of casting… he was rewarded with a Taimen… on his popper… congrats to Dennis… our only Taimen on Fly..

Dear Bro Sualeh,

Our biggest Mongolian trout… Lenok weighted about 7 lbs.. and we also landed a Taimen… the world biggest fresh water Salmon weighted about 10 lbs on a popper fly…

After packing up… we were on the bumpy road again…

Check out the snow on the mountain…

After hours on the bumpy ride… we reach the white lake… luckily, we will be putting a night in the Ger…with warmer in the Ger…

But the bad news is… it was snow last 2 days… sound like the fishing for Pike might be a mission impossible..

Without wasting time… after settle with our Ger… we went to the lake… with guidance from few local boys..( after I gave them some Craft fur canddies and Mises…!!! Rasuah..sikit lah…)

The local were catching fish with hand line… with a big spoon at the end…

With advise from the boy… I manage to land the only Pike… using craft fur Sculpin minnow…

Wahh… U guys had a real grand time huh? Real nice countryside and looks like the fishing was just as great.
