I can’t comment on the fees… it might be different next year, due to fuel price… perhaps Nick would be able to advise further…
Already got someone wanna go next year… but Takei San will only take small group… about 5-6 person
So… those who wanna go.. better make up their mind fast…
The stories continue…
After putting a night at white lake… in a Mongolian Ger…with warmer and nice bed…
The next Morning… due to Extreme weather… we have to cancel the fishing at White Lake.. start our journey back to Ulaanbaatar… on the way, we will put a night at a place with Ger… no more camping…!!! sound great..!!!
We stop at a small town for lunch…

and half way… we reached the very up-stream of the Chuluut river…

According to Takei San… his record for this part of river was 40 lenoks on lure in 2 hours… wow…!!!
Hours of bumpy road… what came in to our eyes… the grass land have change from green to yellow… it looks like Autumn now…

30th August… continue our journey back to Ulaanbaatar… 12 hours of ride…on earth road…
Reached Ulaanbaatar at 10pm… surprise… traffic jam…!!!
Next Morning… 31st August…
Our flight is at 11.45pm… so means we have whole day for site seeing at the city…

One thing that those who wish to go… beware of pick-pocket…!!! we were mark by few young Mongolian guy( they were wearing branded… looks like local tourist..)
That night… our flight to Incheon International Air-port Korea… again 12 hours transit again…!!!
31st August… 11.20pm… we landed in KLIA
Merdeka…Merdeka…Merdeka…!!!
excellent report dron. Wish i could have followed you guys on that trip ![]()
Don’t worry bro… I’m planing on another trip sooooon… let go together… the spirit of FFF…!!!
Dron,
Looks very much like a fun outing.
Colorful report. Great photos. I love it.
Thanks for sharing… [;)] [:)]
Let’s Fly Fish…!
For this trip… like what I said.. total fishing were 2 1/2 days… the rest due to extremely cold weather… and long distance traveling… spend in tent, car, air-port…
It’s all about timing…
The next trip, I would suggest that to stay put at Chuluut river only… no white lake or Hot spring… in that 2 1/2 day fishing at Chuluut river… Pak, Nick, Ahmad and my self have only cover 1.5km up stream… according to Takei San…and Dennis, also mention that.. down stream have more beautiful pool and spot for dry fly and they saw a lot of Taimen in the pocket…
A solid 5 days at Chuluut river will be more reasonable to cover up and down from the camp spot… This is an unspoiled fishing ground explored by Takei San ( he have been fishing in Mongolia for 7 years..)… and it’s only him and his client were fishing there… if given more time… I believe we would be able to hook up more record fish…

wow… looks fun. Can I join you guys next time?
Semua are welcome… don’t forget… it’s still an unspoiled fishing ground until others found it… so better go earlier…
I have watched the video by trout bum… " The sceach for the River Wolf "… they goes to the extreme place far far in no man land.. during late Autumn..fish during the snow time..and the Taimen they caught… compare to what our spinning team ( Wei Loong )caught.. ours are bigger…
quote:Thanks dronfly, this is by far the best fishing report I have seen on MFN (in my view). Thanks for this great entertainment. Through this excellent report, you took us all for an angling ride to Mangolia. This place looks so much like Deosai Plains of Pakistan, though apparently much lower in height (Deosai plains are at an altitude of 14000 ft from sea level and open only from June to September). During this period, lakes and streams of Deosai plains are full of snow carps of different types, a very strong and hard fighting fish. By the way, how much the trip cost each one of you ?? Just to get an idea [:)]
[i] Dear Bro Sualeh,Our biggest Mongolian trout… Lenok weighted about 7 lbs.. and we also landed a Taimen… the world biggest fresh water Salmon weighted about 10 lbs on a popper fly…
tight lines
Sualeh
We have spent about RM6700 ++ each… excluding the drinks and extras… volka at nights…
Bro Sualeh..
any information on the Deosai Plains fishing …? the journey, the cost, the weather, the fish and the transportation and guide…?
