i’ll inform u asap when got the green light…to tell u the truth…i’ll still go if i had to go by myself…actually i’ve been going to penang and sg petani quite a few time by bike…a lot of interesting spot along the way…although a bit slow on the speed but nevermind…just go slow & steady[:D][:D][:D]just around 2 hours only…
do u have any suggestion of flies pattern used in kakilai?can post some picture ka?..need to learn how to tie some flies from now[:D][:D][:D]

can u tell me the simplest flies pattern can be use at kakilai?i’m not good at tying and not many material right now. do we have to use floating line or sinking line?i think i’m bringing a wt7 set…[:D][:D]

As for the line.. I would advise you go for sinking line… if you don’t have a sinking line, then an intermediate line will also work.. as for the flies.. FT flies works the best.. pink, Char, blue clouser also good to use…
Good choice… 7 wt is good.. good for you and the fish.. ( tell you a joke… someone broke his rod by using 3 wt on a GT… hahahahahahahaha… )

i tried tying those FT flies…still need a lot of practice…but now have to find those epoxy eyes…got only a few of them since last time order from nick…not nice la without those eyes..(serupa ikan buta[:D][:D][:D])…got other type of eyes but they are rattling type…have not tried to put those yet…maybe tonight going to do xperiment with those eyes…bought them at a craft shop for 10 sen each.[:D][:D][:D]

what u can do for the eyes is: get a paper puncher n punch out some reflective or holographic tape/sticker and then put a black dot on it…jadilah eyes dia…haaaaa
go look for surecatch 3D eyes…comes in 5 or 6 sizes…that’s what i’m using. cheap n good

at last i found the epoxy eyes at phong lee, ipoh (bercham branch)..
call up ms peggy and she said they have the stocks…actually ms peggy also new in this fly fishing…that’s why she took the risk stocking fly equipment & material in her shop (beginner level)…not many material but enough for beginner like me[:D][:D][:D]…

There are not dying lar. The ones which came during the first batch are all well. It was only the second batch that died. There are still about 30 huge GTs from the second batch that are alive and kicking. I don’t see them dying anymore so I guess they are doing ok.
Just last friday, I landed an approx 3.5 kilo GT at kakilai and must say that it looked fat and healthy. Beautiful skin, nice red gills and very upright and healthy fins. It took me about 20 minutes to land the fish and I was using an 8wt set up!
The cobias are also doing pretty well. Out of the 44 which were introduced recently, about 8 died. I suppose due to the stress of transportation. The remaining fish are well and alive and are already feeding. I saw Irhammy landing one whilst I was there last friday.
I also saw a few 3 to 5 kilo siakaps landed on that day and they all looked healthy and were very fierce in their fight. So I really wouldn’t worry about the fish there. They are doing ok. Just get your arse over on the 20th. The fish are waiting for your candies !
