The best hook is Angler Hook No:6(for Udang galah).
For patin : gardenia(jumbo)dadu cut, coconut pandan, strawberry essence and a container to mix the bread with the mixed essences(1 cap each) Arrange the bread like satay about 5 - 10 pcs. per hook.

For Tongsan roti sedap 300gm x 2, 1/2 of maripan(RM0-60), pandan essence, pandan leaf and pandan paste, mix per cap each. Mixed together like doe. Put in a container for 4 hrs. used the spring.

Good luck!!!

i usually put marshmallows on each end of the bait to keep it afloat.

sure it works as well bro…

**Even a fish could stay out of trouble if it would just learn to keep its mouth shut.

I tried it last weekend. My problem is that both hooks cannot sink. I put around 5 to 6 cubes of cut bread each. They will just float around. I did also hard pressed some bread into the swivel so I can throw it further. I was expecting the bread on the swivel to float but not on the hooks as they are only a few cubes. Maybe I should use heavy hooks??

Anyway JPJ paypond is now back. Anyone looking for a sure bite can go there. They have Pacu and Rohu. Fee is RM5 perhour and no jackpot.

JPJ paypond ? Location ?

goku,
It is on the way to banting very near to the Kesas Bandar Botanic interchange. Anyway all 4 ponds in this area are happening now. You can choose Sg Kandis or Sec 24 or Batu Bata or JPJ. Rabuk Bay is a no no. The one with the highest chances of getting fish will definitely be JPJ as the pond is very small. The fishes released are around 1 to 2 kg. Not bad for light tackle but a sure thing.

Batu Bata paypond is dead. Please skip this place. The boss is trying to sell the business and has stopped releasing fish. His other paypond which is the saltwater paypond 500 meters after Batu Bata is already closed.

Thanks for the information guys but do anyone have the coordinates for Sg kandis pond in Klang?
Thanks a bunch guys.

Dun understand - if we want to set our bait 12 feet from the bottom of a 14 feet deep pond, why don’t we simply use a float instead of a cumbersome Y rig ? [:o)]

Because this paypond does not allow float fishing.

Yes mike, most of the payponds which hold local competition forbids the usage of floats. I guess it is because floats will float around left or right and thus will “cross path”, making it difficult for casting and fighting fish if the pond is crowded.

I find it very funny - while they forbids floats, but if you use bread as floats (ie. Y rig, 1 hook with your bait, the other hook use a whole piece of Gardenia bread to act as “float”), it is allowable [:D]

Dear Guys,

Little bit update with this pay pond. This is my first time writing respond in this thread as well as first time fishing here. Yesterday 14 March 2011, got job interview at section 15 shah alam. the interview end around 11.30 a.m and still got time to be wasted thus straight away to this pond. Upon reaching the pond, called up Weng (credit to him as he taught me the killer bait through the phone). However can’t find enough time to find the stuffs hence utilize whatever bait contained in my fishing bag. The bait used are:

  1. Bomb 286 dedak
  2. Blended Fish Valley Pallets
  3. Power no 2( Black head fish with the mouth shut) smells fragrance.
  4. Fish Valley Pallets soaked for 30 secs. then allowed to dried naturally.

The mixture of the dedak mixed was attached to the spring whilst the Fish Valley Pallet is attached to the hooks.

The rigs used was just the normal Bomb rigs with the spring on the middle.

The spots : the pondok. adjacent to the water paddle wheel. Far Corner of the pond. Cast was done towards the current generated from the paddle wheel. Actually saw several giants tongsan sisik halus playing with the current.

Fishing time : 12.00 noon - 3.00 p.m.

Payment : RM 30.00 deposit. Plan to fish for 3 hours.

Jeng jeng jeng.. Results:

  1. 8 kg Tongsan sisik halus. Unlucky due to not boll in the mouth. The hook attached to the fish’s chin.Sold back the fish at the counter for RM 1 / kg. total got RM 8.00.
  2. 6 kg Tongsan sisik Halus. Missed the hookup during entering the landing net due the hook detached. (cap ayam bomb rigs used).
  3. 3.9 kg Rohu landed. the fight was unforgettable as the fish tends to run underneath the paddle wheel. Luckily managed to control. Sold the fish to one brother there(chinese i think) got RM 10.50 for this fish.
  4. 1.9 kg Rohu landed and same fight like previous one. sold to the brother there and got RM 6.50.

End the fish session sharp at 3.00 p.m and retrieve back RM 6.00 from the deposit. In total expenditure Deposit RM 30.00. Gained from selling and tolak the fish and returned deposit :RM 6 + RM 8 + RM 10.50 + RM 6.50 = RM 31.00.

In conclusion untung RM 1.00. and fish for free there. hehehe.. given we caught the fishes. Thanks and credit to bro Weng.

Nice. Would be better if got one or 2 plabuks [:D]

P.S tecnically, u only spent RM24 for fishing. But it still comes down to RM1 profit

JJ,
Good results man. I myself never caught any Rohu there. Must use your bait next time lah.

Dont give credit to me lah. I also still learning to fish there. Next time you go, give me a buzz. The float you lost in Angler’s Lounge is still with me haha

“A good angler needs the ability to foretell the best location to fish, the best time to fish, the best bait, and the best technic. And to have the ability afterwards to explain why there is no hook-up”

bro jo-try to scout the area and 7-11 postings…plus UITM area got plenty of rooms available..

Yes this is the best pay pond by a distance. Last Saturday I managed to catch my very first Mekong Catfish at 16kg. I took about 15 minutes to land it and I was using my saltwater setup 6’6" Ugly Stick with 50lb line and a drag setting of 3kg.

The only problem with this pond is that they have too many rules. Cannot use float, cannot use more than 2 hooks for Catfish fishing, cannot use other floating materials ie foams except for mashmallow for batu gantung technique, hook must be inside of the fish mouth etc…

ct_109,that a huge fish u caught..by the way wat bait do you use?sms me la next time,we can go together..

For patin fishing the only method is to use bread. However I have caught Giant Pacu up to 10kg as well using bread in the pond. I go there almost every Saturday morning and so far I have never failed to land a patin. So far 100% catch rate at this pond. As for Mekong that was my first so can’t say much.
