I visited the pond last Thursday night but gave up after arriving as the place is PACKED! to the brim. Rough estimate, more than 100 anglers that night, people squeezing onto every single feet of space. I walked 1 round & discover so many creative baits.
- Gardenia Bread
- Groundbaits with weird mixtures
- Home made boilies (in green & red balls)
- Stinking Patin bait in F&N plastic bottles (Damm smelly!!!)
- Fish pellets
Anyway, my house to the pond is about 10mins drive away. Any MFN buddies wanna join up on Weekday evenings?

Alright, looking forward to it. I’ve never fished for Patin or Tongsan before, would like to learn the art. The amount of splashes on the water makes my adrenaline rush every time I visit the place. Seldom see such an ‘active’ paypond.

I didn’t get the jackpot if not I would be jumping up and down already. It was not a boll as they call it. It was on the tail of the Mekong. Almost 80% of hook-up for Mekong will not be in the mouth. So far I have yet to see one which is in the mouth (boll). Almost all is outside ie eye (most common) and tail. Last Saturday I got only 3 patins and didn’t see any Mekong hook-up.
snakehead, bottom using Y rig or apollo or bomb rig ? Need to strike or they make your reel scream ? Hmmmm…they whack bread also…I thought of bringing some earthworms dont know whether that is effective ?

Weng,i used simple Y rig..U need to strike once u see the line began to straighten..Earthworms are very good to get keli,i used to catch similar size kelis’ using worms..u can use small fish oso like seluang or carp as the owner said there is 18 Toman bunga in the pond..

after seeing all bro’s comment… I pay my visit to the pond last night… and I have a 0 for the trip …[:(] T.T… and it rains at 6sth till the time i left… what a bad luck !!!
BAD luck dint ends just like that…
I use dedak with banana essence & dedak with pandan essence…and some bread too…
but dun even get a pull from them…
some weird things happened during the time…
i pressed some gardenia bread at the swivel, some dedak at the hook, throw to the place where a lots of splashes… immediately my rod bended, and i reel it back… guest what ~~ I have only a line… with nothing.. even my swivel & hook.. I guess that will be pacu’s great job [xx(]… it happens 3 times straight…@@.. raining non stop and that ends my 1st time in the pond…
any bro can share me some secret & technic to get the fish there and may b v can go together next time??? Let me know if I have the chance to learn from you all.

Maybe because all the Mekong got caught in the eye or tail already and are in pain as such no mood to makan!! Anyway I was also glad that I did not get the jackpot that time because they told me that my setup using batu gantung technique with 1 hook and white foam is a no no for jackpot. They only accept mashmallow as floating alternative.

what fish are you targetting? Seldom heard people went back empty handed. The worst I have seen is they caught some bandaraya fish. Not bad on light tackle.
I am expecting some patin & rohu.. jus wanna enjoy some tug of war between the fish… dun really targeting any specific fish…

thanks man will bring some earthworm next time. Recently always eat “pak kor” there can’t get those bigger patins. If can get those big keli is as much fun also. I have never caught big keli >3kg before. Thanks for the info man

Hey you are Albert, right ? I can remember your rig. I’m the feller who go fish there same time as you lah hahaha. Nowadays seldom go Sek24 because can’t get as many fish as before liao. Last Saturday only got 2 patin after absent for nearly 1 month there.

tough luck ! not 1 or 2 times, but 3 times kena bitten by pacu. The pacu there is big and fierce. If you are free on Saturday early morning, can go there I show you my rigs and baits. But recently my luck is bad there so dont expect too much from me lah hahaha. Maybe I will be there this Saturday morning 7-11am

The easiest would be to catch the giant Keli there. Use the coil or spring with some hooks attached ie the rohu technique. The best way is to cast it to the middle of the pond. I’m sure you will be able to get some kelis.

Yup its me. How much you sold your 2 patins for? Now I don’t use foam or any other type of floating material anymore. At first they said cannot use 2 hooks and now they say cannot use foams or any floating materials. What nonsense. Anyway it is their rule and I have to follow. I’m still there every Saturday morning. Now it is getting better. Actually I caught another Mekong before this but got entangled with other lines after 15 minutes and the fish got loose.

I have seen this Indon guy next to me use this basic technique with dedak and he caught like 5 to 6 (maybe more) kelis. The size ranges from 4kg to 8kg. The thing is that he cast to the middle of the pond. The best time would be in the morning.
I see… i do saw 2 indon with 1 rod @ the time i visit the pond… they use the same technic too.. but they dont have any fish till i left the pond… im sure the weather do affects the bite rates of the fish… yet will try another time as u said to get some hook up… =)… thanks ct for the info… have u all try out another place near tasik biru? a pay pond @ tasik biru, they have abt 3 ponds there ( 1 big pond, 1 game pond - for jackpot n big patins, all big size in there and another small pond open on sat & sun ) always see lots of ppl getting fish there.. but the pond seems small & dirty to me… may b all bro can give a try there..

morning section should be alright.. ( game pond only open @ 10am, the big 1 should b anytime ) people started coming @ 12pm…dont go at 3/4pm.. lolx.. it is horribly crowded… may be you can go there a bit earlier to get a good spot…
