Thanks brudder Ken for lifting me so high [:p][:D], well Pete those haul i think would be once in a while as u have known that our Malaysian fishes size have shrunk due to over fishing n not tightly control… for the trip is not a problem if u wanna join but anyhow i do need to ask the organiser if we still have seats left…
Overall not a very productive catches but least everyone had fun…weather was fine but abit windy at nite but somehow the tide seems not rite.
No frenzy encounter and yet when there’s a hook up at nite those pesky Shark or Barracuda seems to be around [:(!].
Sotong not more than 10 for 2 nite [:(][xx(].
Yup Pete got 2 Tenggiri from trolling…got mine with a 6M trolling lure n Chong got his with skirt…
Yup fish don seems to be biting even when theres current…2 nite whole group only got not more than 8 sotong hmmmmmmmm…got my Barracuda by imitating u tying 3 hooks on wire leader with tuna slice…there was Japanese Red tho but sharks was around when fish is bitting.
Oh ya Pete, met a friend just now…he too went to 06 last week n got hook the runaway train like u n it strip almost 400M of his line but gave a good fight b4 his 80lb braided line snap…he also dunoo what fish is it… u think it might be a giant GT?
He did mention they got few fish only but didnt specifield what type of fish…once in a blue moon he will charter Ah Chuan boat n the rest he usually charter Ah San boat…
Love to join u this weekend but can’t due to my sis is coming for holiday with family…
Ya go try some other spot, maybe who knows u’ll get some “Tua Mau” again…
Oh by the way my bro in law had a cancel trip to Jarak n he ask me to book Ah Chuan boat on 17-18 June…
A Turkish squid photographed during my recent trip to Turkey , itwas caughtby local on thejetty of the Aegean Sea just 20 feet away
Brudder Foo , anyway quite a good result from the Trolling side , for all our past trips with Lau Kau , never caught any things . Those bloody sharps had a telling effects on all the targeted fish ..
Been on AH ENG boat b4…im not here to discredit any boatman but for me there’s no more of me charting his boat…Ah Eng is ok but is just his older curut smoking partner n the young chap i really dislike…when we complaint why only 2 meals a day for 3d2n trip the curut guy say “i only eat 2 meals a day”… one more thing about those 2 guys is whenever we tangle with our line both will “buat tak tau” or will quickly move to the other side of the boat…
Im sorry if i have hurt any of u guys feeling towards Ah Eng service…to me fishing is a recreation n is the boatman duty to look after their client welfare…hope im rite…
I personally told Ah Eng as long as those 2 guys are around, i wont be charting his boat n also must inprove on the meal they serve…furthermore i don mind them charging more for good food…

Good luck A.H…
Foo,
I certainly agreed with your comments. But as what I’ve been the last April 2011 trip while compare to last year. The foods are better, they got tsomeone cooked with frozen and bring on board. Taste much better than curut cooking. Even they serves extra 2 dishes- eggs and additional veggies during dinner. Still you are right 2 meals a day. We even asked him to cook supper before he get to sleep. At least, they serve better than those boats at Sg. Besar, Selangor. Every meals also sardine can with rice.!!! Breakfast, maggie kosong sup!!! Torturing!!
Curut guy likes to talk miles of his so called “splendid” stories. While the shorty fella just know how to fish at the front deck. More over 2 of them really had a great teamwork, curut guy will catch fresh sotong and they keep it for his partner Only. Imagine it, we haven’t caught anything and their rod has already “taruk makan” continuously.
My kakis has made complaints about these 2 fellas. So, my recent booking with Ah Eng, I have voiced him about the issues that our kakis are not happy about his partner style and we don’t really want them to fish. We really don’t mind that he fish but every spots also he will drop his lines. We paid for the service but they never help us anything and keep on fishing as like they are part of the customer. So, ah eng had suggested to me that whenever his partner caught the fish they will cook it on the boat and share it out. Looks like he really take a corrective action plan. It sounds better and we will see how it’s going on the 23-25th June.
It has been a custom for most 3d2n taikong n their helper to fish together with us…ur very rite indeed bout the curut n the young guy…the curut guy likes to talk about his splendid past n keep fresh sotong for this young chap…
Hahahha our breakfast is even worse than maggi kosong…is maggi with overnite kembung bait without even trowing the fish gut…yuckkkkkkkkkkkkk…
At times i pity Ah Eng too…he is jsut a small partner n those 2 fellas has a bigger share…Of the 3 trips i went with Ah Eng n fish caught by those 2 fellas was never ever cook onboard n share with us…they will kep it at the bottom of their ice box even if we ask if they caugh any fish they will only reply nola only small fish…
Ya i heard bout Sg Besar taikong bout their attitude…
kembong maggi mee with gut is very cham leh, foo, can imagine that. might as well maggi kosong better.
how much these boats charge per 3d2n trip? on low budget for food it seems???
Wah long time no see u comment liao… ya maggi kosong is even better…
the last time i went on Ah Eng 3d2n was RM2800.00
If want to take an executive boat charter, so far my best experience fishing is in Singapore. If anyone of you bought the Rod & Line magazine in May this year. Look at the article written by Capt. Tan “1001 places to fish before I Die”. That is the nicest and comfort with best service from the boat crew - Ah Jiang.
The boat has been operating few years and every year booking is fully booked. The boat was purchased from Langkawi and it operates at Pasir Panjang Yatch Club. Just drive into their car park and you just have to wait their buggy to onload your stuff from the car. They will drive straight to Ah Jiang’s boat. Simple and nice!
FOODS are super good. Fishing are good. Sleeping cabins are good - fully aircond and you wont smell fishy on the mattress and bed. The surrounding fishing are spacious. Especially the live bait tanks they have front and the back.
At the end of the day, all their crews will gutted the fish for you. You will be shocked to see how skillful they are on gutted the fish especially on the stigray, tua Kau & cobia.
Opps.. sorry to touch the story from Northern region down to our neighbour country.
a more comfy boat than ah jiangs’ will be the seven sea conqueress operated by Ricky. 2 deckhands on board to assist with almost anything you need. Boat is equipped with tv, refrigerator, freezer, and all the wants you need for pampering while onboard. Most importantly, the boat is fully equipped with all the safety apparels you need and even inflatable rafts!! Just google for some photos of it. But of course, all beauty comes with a price…
