For Maldives flats, suggest you use hook size #2 to #4. For charlies you can use hook size #2 and size #4. Minnow clouser - hook size #2 Surf candies - hook size #2 Fly size between 1.5 to 2.5 inches in length

At the surf, use hook size #2/0. Go for decivers or bunker fly.
I personally like to use big flies between 6 to 8 inches at the surf.
Cheers

Merci’ beaucoup, uncle…

Sun Block lotion… what will be the ideal sun block lotion for Saltwater fishing…

I personal prefer the Sun Play with 130 SPF… small bottle.. non greasy.. and it don’t smell like others…

There are many brand in the market… anyone mind to share other brand that proven friendly for saltwater application..?

Hello Choo aka Tree-vali hehehehehehe[:D][:D][:D](joking only lah) Hows the going? Okay here's some of my tips from experience: 1. saltwater from beach - use chartuese or white clouser 2. rocky areas - go for olive colors or light orange 3. deep or blue waters - olive, chartuese, blue. For any of the above, use individually but mix with white belly. Hook size at least 2/0 or 4/0. You can make either a deceiver or bunker fly between 3 to 6 inches in length. I just came back from fishing off the Kedah sea (Tuas). Pak use olive deceiver, hook size 2 and size 4, which I manage to hook up small Dorado. So happy tying and let me know when you catch anything. Cheers Pak Amin

Give me some time… I will improve my skill and knowledge… and will still commit to share every single knowledge that I have with all fly fishers out there…

Cheers… hidup FF Malaysia…

Hello…!!! Bro… Gua ada gigi lagi lah…!!! belum sampai jadi Pak..!!!

Let’s go back to Fly fishing at Maldives…

These are some of the pictures… hope you will find helpful..

When mention about Flats… this is what you expect… from the shadow patch on the sea bed, you know…that is coral patch..where fishes are around…

How about Surf…??? check this out… that is why you need a pair of good solid wader shoe…

Not only that…??? be prepare to get WET…!!!

From Far… you will find where are the surf… flats… reef…channel…

Some very interesting photos of the small island call Korundo, where out fishing boat will dock to refill the fresh water…

It’s a small island…

going into the jetty tru the wave breaker..

the jetty…

the unique little boat…

Thanks for the exciting photos, Cikgu Dron.

So what about tippet?
What is the preferred poundage?
And how long should it be?

Cheers… [;)]

I brought 20lbs fluorocarbon last trip… but next coming trip.. I think I’ll also prepare some 30lbs… cos I’m planning to go surf for the biggies…

as for the leader plus tippet… it’s about 10’ last trip… Pak have some beautiful hand furl leader…

for the line… I think sink tip will be ideal for most application on flats and surf… Intermediate will be good if you are fishing on sand base area or in the channel…

Hey… just me… Cheers…

Dron
