Sounds great!
Will ensure to make closer contact with all of you near the trip. Exchange phone numbers and so on.
Btw, i could see on the excellent pics in this thread that the choice of baits for Snakehead varies a lot (poppers, softbaits, wobblers) What is the best? Do you use any kind of jerkbaits?
Looking forward to go snakehead fishing with you!
About the type of lures used for the snakehead in KK, so far we found top water lures are most effective (poppers, froggies, walkbaits, pencils), shallow hard body lures are also not bad. Jerkbaits, not sure which one are you refering, but i have tried using Lucky Craft Wander lure (is this a jerkbait?) got strike but no hook up yet. Now we starting to use soft plastics and surprisingly it is effective and deadly! Spinnerbaits and spoon also produce snakehead. Heck! I think the snakehead here in KK will strikes anything that moves! [:D]
To make it even more exciting, we have witness huge snakehead attacking birds that come down for a drink at the pond edge! [:0]
huh… sound like it’s a huge 1 snakehead! any of you guys ever hook up with it? sound great… if able to hook up with it, you guys must give a nice shot and pose of photo for the greatest snakehead!!![:D]
Never really hook up this monsterous snakehead yet, or maybe just a normal big size snakehead acting cocky! [:D] But it is sure a sight to gasp![:0]Making you casting for hours at the same spot nonstop..[:D]
yup, maybe some cocky snakehead.. but in the pond i usually cast n fishing also got the large 1, saw it few times taking breath, slow and gentle… roughly i can say that it is around 2 feet above of length and can weight up to 2 kg ++[;)]
is this the bamboo pond you guys fishing snakehead? to left is to k.k and from right is from the tanjung lipat roundabout. at the middle is the pond. is that right?
as you can see… the yellow is our casting spot, red is the place that our lure stay safe and peace there… hahahah[:D],
and the blue is the small pond, it appear coz got many floating plants at the green there…

Yes that’s the very famous bamboo pond now…especially weekend that place is like Cheap Sales..you can meet a lot of Haruan caster there. I usually go during the week days…I am more to SP now and is very effective. Yesterday got about 10 strikes but only landed 3 including one good size. 3 grubs lost it tail. White or Black SP is very popular…will get some today from tackle shop.
so where do you all park your car there? thanks jeffson, surely will try there… wahh… 10 strikes ahh??? must be very exciting bro… this 2 pm i will try fishing here in kota marudu, snakehead too. but only a small pond by the crossing culvert of the road.. will get some picture if we hook up with some of the fish there… my soft plastic still dont do any right now, my sp colour is green flourescent.. maybe will try now too…
last fishing still no hook up with lures… only small 1 with livebait… aiiyyaa… still the janggut and froggy doesn’t work at the k.b pond. try it yesterday evening… only finger size of haruan try to catch my froggy… maybe it had to use livebait.. like worms or chicken heart or other parts… when i was casting also an old folks that trying live bait frog casting, still no luck on his side too… maybe other time would do there… or at the early morning, never try yet, but surely will get a chance to cast in the early morning.
Yep, thats the place, the picture you show is at the reservior outfclow area, we usually launch our boats further north and make our way to the area in the picture, it takes at least 2-3 days to try all the lubuks. That is how big the area is. Must use electric motor, if petrol motors the JKR and Water board guys get abit pissed off, incase of pollution.

Wuahhh… Jefff what a clear pic you have shown ahahahaa not bad. But it seems the haruan has immuen with our tactics. Maybe shortly we have to cut our fingers for few weeks let the Haruan hunger for doggy, scrum froggy, luress n SP. Stil a fresh and unforgettable momories while hooked up those powerful monster although a currut size but it stil nice fight…
halo everybody… Plz share with us any other nice places for haruan instead of Bamboo Pond? We will try meet up there and hopefully with a few of us practice catch n release will result us have more places to hunt for snakehead. That’s the only hapiness for anglers and a sport to release our pressure n create stories while on table with full of glasses. Hahahaaaa…
