Hello and hope all is well. Recently I received another letter from Ah Ho and also sms asking me to post his final reply on this topic. I said ok and here is his reply.
Dear roy64@Alfi Ahmxd 640516-X2-5XX9,
Since I started my charter service, when I end a fishing trip, I will wash my boat, fill up the water and fuel, food and have a night rest at home. Than the next day only will start another trip. I never do like some other charter did, came back to jetty, unload the anglers, fill in another group of anglers and continue a trip.
On recent trip, those fishing boat parking far away from Island are Pukat Jerut / Sportlight Boat, they have to park that far because not allowed to put net close to Island. They are fisherman, 2-3 meter of wave for them are “sup-sup sui”, they have no choice because “cari makan”. Look like you are more expert on Jarak water although you are fishing once a year, what a waste you are not a charter’s captain.
To the boat at pinnacle, we need right tide and wind. Do you know how far I need to release anchor ropes to reach pinnacle? Almost 200 meter from the place I drop anchor, with that length of ropes, do you think it was easy like parking a car into your house carpark? If wind against the current, release anchor rope will have no result. Unless we use coral reef ancor, drop it right on top of coral, but this will destroy the corals. Imagine, 1 year how many times I have to drop anchor to park at pinnacle, this will flatten the reef area. That is why I force myself to use mud anchor without fastening a safety line, so I have to be extremely careful to drop anchor outside reef area.
I remember that night I park quiet close to Island, hopefully can do some light jiggin and poppin, I have to make sure the boat do not hit the under water rocks when suddenly change direction of wind or tide. Do you think I can sleep on this situation?
I know you have been fishing with me many years, from bottom fishing later slowly switch to jiggin and popping 2 – 3 years ago. Thats why I truly know your style, armed with branded / expensive tackles will not guarantee you good catch. When other anglers have better catch than you, especially new beginner, your face will turn darker than sotong ink. You are not fishing for fish, but for “muka”, I think the “banyak mahu” type.
Fishing one time at Australia and Maldive, be a champion team of last year sailfish competition not guarantee you will be a hero for every trip. But you really enjoy when people call you “Mr Champion” right? Sometimes you catch more fish then others, sometimes others will catch more fish than you, that is all part of fishing.
I suggest you look at yourself in the mirror and ask, why your fishing friends are getting lesser and lesser? They pull out when you are in? Only the new beginners willing to join you? Even the year during the Maldive trip, I heard they rather organize a new trip when they knew you are joining. Why this happen? Please wake up, you and me are same age, already 44 years old, don’t think you are still 14 ok?
Nobody will like or need this kind of friend because friend will not put sand into his friend’s rice bowl. You can talk or call to complain to me, but the way you do this is trying to destroy my career. Is this really called friends? Anybody need this type of friend, please have it.
Who is the boss when out in the sea? Definitely mother nature is the big boss. When she is co-operative, then come second boss call fish willing to take your offer after you present your bait or lure. So who is the boss when fishing? You or me?
This will be my last letter and I will not look at this topic again. I feel fed-up and don’t want to waste my time argue with you, Mr Alfi Ahxxd @ Mr Champion.
PS: Tuhan n Ang Kong both are looking from the top, that’s why I pray everyday. Sembahyang tak? True is true!!
PS: To Ijam and Belukang .. still haven’t receive any reply from both of you. Apa sudah jadi? They are other charter boats operating around bagan dato area. Please don’t assume if you board a boat in bagan dato it is surely my GT Chaser. Hope you can make sure the boat registration is ATA00911P ok?
Thank you to all those who understood my message and happy fishing to all of you.
