Ya, that weekend i guess we can meet at Laguna on a Sat (if its convenient with you). I should be there at about 3pm onwards on that weekend, the carcass is yours.
Nyamoan, it may not be the BR’s poor design…just one of those things. Theoretically the rod should be able to handle a 3kg fish, but maybe that particular Lemax is designed for a lot more finesse as opposed to other ‘tougher’ rods. Like I mentioned, I do have another Lemax, a smaller one called SlimMax (blue in color). Still serving me well after 6 mths & many 1-2kg pacu’s later.

Just look for the ugliest & most desperate looking fella there (due to constant fishing pressure) [:D]. Ya this was a bout a few weeks ago, remember you were at the grandstand with you friend & I was at the Teluk/Beach area? I was using the BR there when you was the Patin bend the rod like hell. I found it broken a few days later. I don’t think the shop will entertain me la, they will claim that it could be any number of factors why the rod broke e.g. the way I fought the fish, my line poundage, the fish size, my handling of the rod etc etc. Now I only trust the Conolon that you see me use all the time.
or you could also order and jus buy the half of the rod that broke.

hey chris. i recently talked to a guy at my friend’s aquarium shop. he said he use black rose to fish at one of the sea lion ponds all the time. no problem fighting big fish n landing them. he really loves it.
maybe just your one happened to be not well made. inconsistency in production line la. maybe not that the rod is lousy la.
Sometimes it is also because of accidents that we did not realize at that time.
Just ask my worthwhile ( no names mentioned for obvious reasons ) friend who went to Sukida with me with 3 brocken rods in his rod bag ! We went in my car, so something happened between his packing at home, and getting into my car, that he did not know about.
In his case, it is easy. It cannot be a fault of the rods because all 3 cannot break at the same time lah.[:D]
… and Oh yes! … for those of us who constantly " upgrade " to rods with the higher IM numbers - be careful.
These are fantastic rods, but they can break even if you accidentally let them drop to the concrete cement in the payponds.
As a comparison, my 30+ year old " ABU Zooms " ( before the graphite race started ) have probably been even used as can openers before ! [:D]

i only heard of some ppl who use rods to clear paths for themselves in jungles. use their rods as parangs. haha.
No wonder Thomas and myself never saw any snakes as we tromped all over ( the old ) Rawang, Batu Arang, Sekinchang, Tanjong Karang, etc.
I have just taken the Pacific Zoom out from deep inside the cupboard for a reminiscent look - Wah ! - got what looks like " s " ( snake ? ) guides also ! … but man, I have forgotten how heavy it was ! I must have been a lot stronger in 1973. [:(]
Now u know y its call ZOOM…our youthful time hv zoom past lio…Abu Zoom used to b real lite…but now tat our youthfulness zoomed past…leaving us in the apek vortex…even broomstick feels heavy[:p]</font id=“purple”>
