Fine, next time along your way to s.lion, there are malay stall along road side selling belanak/sotong/udang, try stop by and take a look. Also they are selling at much cheaper rate. Normally you hook thru the sotong head. It is easier to do with glove.
MONO line and braid is different, just like at the spec and you will immediately realize.
Kerapu
Do you know the name of that pond in K. Selangor?
I know there is a pond in K. Selangor (actually there are two connect to each other), try it twice and only managed to got a snapper less than 2 kg. so I assume it is not the pond you mentioned.
to me, it is the same distance to K. Selangor or to Sea Lion cause I live in Sri Hartamas. it takes more or less one hour to either one.
I’ve seen people fishing in a new pond in K. Selangor recently and the catch is quite nice, during 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM I’ve seen more than 15 snappers haul up by anglers. would try that pond (sorry can not remember the name) next time.
sabiki, the K.Selangor pond I mentioned is owned by S.Lion pond 3 boss. If you go S.Lion P3/4 often you can better know how to go from there, as I am not familiar with Klang road.
For the rest, I will double confirm the way to the pond first, I certainly don’t want to give wrong direction especially there are several ponds around there. I will post the info tomorrow.
pocketfreak, for me, going to that pond is like balik kampung that far…[xx(]
O.K guys, assumed everyone knows how to go to K.Selangor old town, once you reach the old town, go straight all the way and reach the only hotel at K.Selangor. The pond mentioned is next to the hotel. Note that this pond ONLY open on Wed, Saturday and Sunday.
From Klang, you can follow the Jerum..Sasaran continue all the way straight to K.Selangor old town.
From Sg.Buloh, you can take part of the highway to K.Selangor old town.
Guess it is not difficult to get there but freaking far…
Good luck folks, don’t forget to write your adventure here!
If I am not mistaken, on Wednesday it starts at 10am or 12 noon. By the way, I should have mentioned this place has a setup same to S.Lion pond 3/4, there are 2 ponds too at this place, the preceeding pond opens 24/7.
Thanks kerapu,
will try to go there on the 17th . It’s quite a while since I last visit saltwater pond. Currently frequent freshwater pond and off-shore fishing.
Sabiki,
I use weight to avoid the livebait going across the whole pond causing tangles. I use size 1/2 weight. It bait will still be able to swim around with it but not too far because i do a slow retrieve with it . Max i use is size 1 depending on the size of the bait
Sometimes I see pp using size 2 or 3 sinkers. From my experience, the lifebait will die faster if it is casted repeatedly and the heavy sinkers will make the bait unnatural.
But this is just my personal preference. Perhaps when u feel the line, it it more sensitive if u use a lighter sinker.
Sometimes those pp using big sinkers get the most fishes.
I think it won’t affect your catch, just a preference.
Barracuda,
Thanks man.Actually I use the same sinker as yours. The reason I asked is because my recent 2 trips to sealion ended up in getting nothing!not even a bite!I understand that sometimes fishing requires a lot of luck, but i can`t accept the fact that despite throwing away lots of money I still have no “luck”.
Anyhow I started a new hobby, prawn fishing! Its really productive as I never failed to catch prawns, yet, its just a matter of quantity.Err..not to mention it easier to win jackpot too…haha
Prawning requires a lot more patient, sabiki is a very patient fellow. The 2 trips, did you move around the pond when you sensed that “luck” is not at your side?
Ya…, I heard S.Lion is getting worse, but I also heard S.Lion put more Kerapu and big size Snapper. I believe S.Lion cut down the number of fish in trade of bigger fish, but then, this mean fewer people will get fish but the hook pleasure is higher.
Myself not going there for a month already, plan to go this week or next. Let you guys know then!
kerapu,
ofcourse I moved around the pond. The only thing I haven`t tried yet is “move into” the pond and
try catching fish using bare hands!
Concerning the size of fishes there,I noticed that there were actually more less the same as before..the only thing different the quantity is much lesser..Also,I noticed the number of people fishing there had declined.I think they also got fed up.
Anyway,I dont think its a good idea to go fishing these days due to the bad weather.
I think the haze will play a vital role in fishing, water temprature plays an important role in influencing the fish to eat, bec of the haze sunlight cannot penetrate the haze, hence the water will not be able to warm up as fast, if the water gets too cold fish go to sleep, but water temp. is also influenced by the depth of the pond also, so perhaps it is not the best time to fish right now… stay home and wait for sunny days to come…
No pain no gain, dont try dont know… muahahahahaha
there is report in the newspaper that one pond somewhere in seremban suffered huge losses when suddenly thousand of their freshwater fish died. A check by Jab Perikanan showed that the fish died due to unsufficient O2 in the water which is also related to the increasing polluted air (haze). So I assume, it is not a good time to go for fishing right now, not only because of haze but we may not able to get a good catch…

Aku seorang pemancing…
Bukan nelayan
there could be the reasons not only O2 but also the acid level in the water, after the haze drop into the water its carried ashes melted in the water which contained acid, and if the water is not moving, the acid accumulated in the water may effect to the fishes as well.
one of the good reason like LS said for not going fishing these days to Klang is it may not be productive, but I think a more important reason is your health.
come to think of it, the haze is not just on the outside, even stay at home, i can still feel pain in my eyes n throat. maybe the risk can be minimize by staying at home, but, it feels like lemas la, very bad le the jerebu…
well, to wait for a sunny nice day like the good old days may take some times. maybe we should go balik kampong, or outstation for fishing. kenot tahan la lama2. hands very itchy, otak very lemas la…
