One of UFO project that we plan is to help set up Empangan Air Kuning in Taman Pertanian which run by FFLCC…to turn the place become a sport fishing center and make it stay as a fly fishing heaven. Thank you for highlighting this Rahiman. We have submitted the new proposal to the Minister and looking forward for his reply. But at the current moment we are allowed to carry on as usual. Frankly, we cannot be pushing more than this already. So, the best thing is while waiting for the final decision or approval from the Minister, we have to show to him that we are still interested to continue with this place and the best way is to show some progress. If we wait and do nothing, then if the minister visit us again and see that EAK is still like before without any improvement then he might terminate us immediately. We have to do what we can to show him that we are serious in continueing this place.
This is just my opinion alone. If any good suggestion please do share with us in a constructive way. I am posting in here the paper that I submitted to the Minister to understand further on our proposal. (Hak cipta terpelihara/ Copy right)
This is a simple sketches of the platform that we are going to build… size are 27’ long… with 12’ T out for 3 fly fishers casting comfortably… there will be few platform like this build around the pond ( pls refer to Nik’s proposal.. )
We plan to use Bakau trunk.. pile in to secure the floating platform… on top of the platform will be solid timber plank… the floating PVC Drum are the huge 45 gals type which we foresee it will be able to give good support and flotation..
Hope to get everyone’s comment and advice on the construction of the platform…

Funding is near to impossible and even if it is available, your project is at risk to be taken over by other operators because it’s public money and its worst when it is successful! Funding your own project is much more secure, however the most important thing is to get an agreement signed. Watch out for clauses that are arbitrarily put in. I have seen projects being `Hijacked’ this way. Having said that, Nik’s proposal appeared to be on the right track, lets hope the Minister gives his endorsement.
